Purging the Corrupt In Iraq
In an attempt to stabilize government functions and root out those suspected of sabotage, the Iraqi government forced out three high-ranking and three low-ranking officials from the ministry of trade. The move comes as part of a sweep for anti-corruption throughout the government. While some hailed the move, others questioned its impact and why it did not go further or higher up. Nonetheless, it is clearly a move in the right direction as the US approaches its general election and the tide of American policy is likely to change.
