Israeli Police Remove Palestinian Family’s Tent after Eviction
Israeli police in East Jerusalem have removed a tent set up in protest by a Palestinian family. The Kurd family had been living in their house for 52 years when a court ruling last week granted the land to Jewish groups. These groups claimed the land was an important burial site and Jewish-owned during the 19th century. The Kurd family said they were given no warnings that they must take down the tent, but the Israeli police have said their actions were in compliance with a court order.
