Albania and Saudi Arabia Plan to Boost Ties
Albania and Saudi Arabia plan to sign a memorandum of understanding soon to bring the two countries back together. After 9/11 and the Balkan wars, investments between the two countries diminished. Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha and Albanian Minister to the Kingdom Admirim Banaj, hope to rekindle investments in Saudi banking, oil, food, tourism, human resources, minerals and water resources. They hope to precede their investments with cultural weeks for cooperation and understanding in investing. Officials from the Saudi Fund for Development, who recently visited Albania, proposed ideas for projects in health, education, infrastructure and energy.
