IDF Considering Operations Against Gaza
Several sources have reported in the last 24 hours that Israel is preparing for large scale attacks in the Gaza Strip in response to an attack on an IDF force base that wounded 8 soldiers. Reports indicate that all Gaza checkpoints will be closed on Sunday.
Deputy Israeli Defense Minister Matan Vilna’i stated, “we are getting close to launching a wide-scale operation in Gaza.” The Jerusalem Post also reported Vilna’i as saying that this operation would be different from previous ones. The International Middle East Media Center has claimed one Israeli leader has called for open air detention facilities, possibly to be used for Gazans captured in the coming raids.
